Bathurst – Mrs. Evelyn Sergeant, wife of Gordon Sergeant, of Bathurst, passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday October 12, 2019 at the age of 69.
Born in Chicago, USA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jean (Heilman) Becker.
Besides her husband, she is survived by eight children: Wendy Sergeant Godin (Remi) of Robertville, Denise McLellan (Alexander) Chamberlain Settlement, Janet Sergeant of Beresford, Kevin (Sylvie Bertin) of Bathurst, Ada Sergeant of Bathurst, Sarah Sergeant of Gatineau, QC, Duncan of Bathurst and Becky Boyd (Rod) of Cambridge, ON.
Nine grandchildren: Nesha, Matthew, Bradley, Rebecca, Kesha, Sasha, Jacob, Amelia and Boston. Two great-grandsons, Tyson and Severin.
One brother, James Becker of Chicago, USA.
One sister, Barbara Miller of Knox, Indiana, USA.
Several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held from the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witness, Ste Anne St., Bathurst, at a date and time to be announced. Donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
