It is with profound sadness and the deepest sense of loss that we announce the passing of Carmela Spencer on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 94. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Carmela will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children: Judy (Don Ayliffe), Rob (Sharon Oliver) and Steve (Mandy Dew); grandchildren Liz Ayliffe (Aaron Haraus), Cam Ayliffe(Karla Alsop), Shannon Cote(Francois) and Gary Dew; great granddaughter Alice Cote; sister in laws Anna Butera, Winona Butera and Alvina Butera; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Robert (Bob), parents Lorenzo Butera and Carmela (Capostagno); 2 infant children Lawrence and Barbara Jean; brothers Charlie(Rose), Ben (Norma), Joe (Anna) and Ray (Nonie) , Lawrence (Alvina) and sister Vivian McKenna (Russ).
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Friday October 25, 2019 at St. Patrick Church, 196 Kenwood Ave, Burlington, ON. Refreshments will be served in the church hall after the mass.
