Bruce William Robinson
February 5, 1939 – October 23, 2019
Bruce Robinson passed away peacefully at the Claresholm General Hospital on October 23, 2019 at the age of 80 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Troy) and Sheila (Darren), brother Lloyd, and nieces and nephews including Patti Riley (Henry), Kenny Robinson (Bonnie), Bruce Robinson (Cheryl), Brian Robinson (Sheri Lee), Steve Robinson (Donna), Tom Robinson (Shelley) as well as numerous cousins.
Bruce is predeceased by his wife Darlene, brother Elgin, sister Greta, and parents Viola and Clarence Robinson.
Bruce, also known as “Boogie” to his close friends and family when growing up in Waskada, Manitoba moved to Alberta when he was a young man. He met and married Darlene after suffering a serious neck injury. Darlene was his nurse, and it was love at first sight. They married and settled in Claresholm, Alberta where they completed their family with the addition of two daughters – Shannon and Sheila.
Bruce was a teacher by profession at the Willow Creek Composite High School for twenty years (1972-1992) where he shared his love of auto mechanics by teaching most of the young men at that time the tools of the trade. Bruce also loved horses and horsemanship. He participated in many roping tournaments across Alberta and took great joy in his time in the saddle and riding on his acreage. Later on, Bruce took up golf with Darlene, and there were many fantastic days spent on the course at The Bridges in Claresholm. Bruce made many friends in Claresholm and area and will be very sadly missed, especially by his coffee groups at Tim Horton’s, and the neighbours that took such care of him in town.
A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at WILLOW CREEK FUNERAL HOME – 4079 1st Street W, Claresholm, Alberta on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Donna Alm Officiating.
