It is with deep sadness that after a strong and courageous battle with cancer we announce Brian’s passing at the Holmberg House Hospice on Saturday October 26, 2019 with his family at his side.
Brian was born in Hamilton Ontario to the late Charles and Rosina McGill. Brian will be dearly missed by his wife Linda of 49 years, their children Sherri and her husband Terry, Brian and his wife Tamara, his grandchildren Colbey, Lauren, Olivia, Abigail, Jackson, Lucas and Tina. He will also be missed by his brother Robert and his wife Debra as well as his brother Clifford and his wife Colleen along with many other extended family members and friends.
Brian spent his early years growing up in Larder Lake Ontario and England. In his late teens he moved back to Hamilton and in 1971 he started his 35-year career with American Can/Ball Packaging where he worked at various locations that include Hamilton, Toronto, Whitby, and Richmond, BC.
Brian loved the outdoors spending time fishing, snowmobiling, skiing and RVing but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Holmberg House Hospice for all the care and support provided to Brian. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Holmberg House Hospice of Abbotsford, BC in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 3:00PM at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services located at 3070 275A Street in Aldergrove, BC.
