1947 – 2019
On Thursday October 3, 2019, Bonnie (Melin) Smith, loving mother, grandmother sister and aunt, passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm at the age of 72. Bonnie was born in Enderby on June 29, 1947 to Frank and Helen (Buchak) Melin. She married Ron Smith in 1968 and had two daughters, Heather, and Tara, followed by four granddaughters, Joscelyn, Sayla, Catherine and Rachel.
Bonnie, who was predeceased by her daughter Heather, left behind her daughter Tara, her four granddaughters, her three brothers, Gilbert, Laurie, and Mike, her niece and nephews. Most of all, however, Bonnie left behind a community of friends that she was proud to serve and be a part of. She will be dearly missed.
Her celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 18th at 12PM at the Enderby United Church, followed by a reception at 1:30 at the Enderby Legion. Please consider donating to the Salmon Arm Hospital in lieu of flowers or cards.
