Obituary of Arthur Gordon Cecil Reilly
Arthur Reilly passed away peacefully on October 9, 2019 at 87 years of age. Arthur was born on July 15, 1932 in Ottawa, Ontario, to Joseph and Margaret Reilly (nee Rutledge), the youngest of three children. He was raised in Ottawa and attended the Fisher Avenue Gospel Hall where he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In 1949 he graduated from Ottawa Technical High School and in 1954 married Wilda Barkley. Their married years began in Arnprior, Ontario, where Art was employed as a foreman at a luggage company. In 1960 they moved to Ottawa where he was employed as a sales representative at Good Year Tire, then later at Frisbee Tire in a similar capacity.
Art loved to study the Bible and teach Sunday School. He was also a skilled craftsman and enjoyed developing his cottage. During retirement, Art and Wilda moved to Georgetown Ontario, then later to Kingston Ontario. Art is survived by his loving wife Wilda; his 2 children Brent (Ruth) Reilly and Loralyn (Paul) Gazdik; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his sister Nora B. Biddle and brother Robert V. Reilly.
