THE SEARCH
By: John Alexander Wyness
I’ve travelled O’er lifes’ oceans
To planets far and wide
I’ve sailed into this universe
I’ve drifted with the tide
To galaxies I’ve sailed afar
And wondered at their distant stars
To moons and suns I’ve made my run
In search of life where life began
I’ve stepped on board on wings of flights
Ascending heavens nobler heights
I’ve floated O’er the Milky-Way
I’ve touched the flashing North’ren Lights
I’ve searched the heavens for a spark
And scrolled for answers in the dark
But still my soul would journey on
In search of truth where truth began
Some greater pow’r gave birth to earth
And drew from clay this universe
At his command “Let there be light”
Eden borrowed day from night
I’ve trod where Christ has shown the way
To teach the balance of the day
To show God’s holy robes to man
In search of love where love began
Unto this biblionic cry
The son of God gave out a sigh
A bloodied wound to leave behind
A guiding light to save mankind
I hear the oceanic roar
Gigantic billows batt’ring shore
Like Orchestras whose symphonies
Play music to eternity
And nature with her pow’r decreed
Has struck a chord of nobler deed
And from her source a gander plan
In search of truth where truth began
