Ruth Mryglod passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 5, 2019 at the age of 90. Ruth was born in Norway on July 27th, 1929 to Alma and Sverra Angermo. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Mike, her son Les, and her grandson Sean, as well as her brother Raymond.
She spent most of her career as a junior high teacher in Leduc. Ruth took a lot of enjoyment from her practice of tai-chi which she ultimately ended up teaching. Ruth was a prolific writer of historically based creative writing. She had written a self published book about her growing up during the war years in Norway. In her senior years she was a regular at the Strathcona Seniors Centre. Ruth was also a very proud Norwegian.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters Karen Olsen, Deedi (Keith) Devine, Kathy (Greg) Pukas, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Edna (Harry) Home. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a gathering of remembrance of Ruth at Greg and Kathy’s in Calmar on the afternoon of Thursday September 12th starting at 1:00 pm. Please feel free to drop by throughout the afternoon.
