Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late William Hughes (2013). Loving mother of Lynda Shevkenek (John), Barbara Bast (Jim Reinhardt), Judy Whetstone (Rick), Beverly Waechter (David), Catherine Hughes Meyer (Jeffrey Meyer), Darlene Hughes, Lisa Hughes and Stephanie Toushan (Troy). Proud grandmother of Taya, Aaron, Paige, Brian, Melissa, Lyndsay, Alex and Brandon. Great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her 3 sisters and 6 brothers. Special thanks to the nursing staff and doctors on the 5th floor of Grand River Hospital. Rhoda’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
