LOVELL, Marlene Carol
Marlene, of Saskatoon passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on September 25, 2019 at the age of 76. Marlene was born in Saskatoon on February 26, 1943. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ray Lovell; children, Raymond Pritchard (Maria), Randy Pritchard (Christy), Lorne Pritchard, and Carrie Pritchard (Dave); and Lloyd Waldner (Sharon) her kinship sibling. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Marlene was predeceased by her grandson, Spencer Pritchard; aunt (mother), Mona Waldner; mother, Helen Erickson, and step father, Roy Burlog. Marlene was a strong woman who made the courageous choice to raise her four children on her own as a single parent in the early 70s. Marlene worked hard to provide for her children by working two jobs while still providing them the necessary skills to succeed which they are very proud and grateful for. Marlene was known for her compassionate demeanour which lead her to a career as an early childhood educator. Marlene worked as the director of the North Park Childcare Centre for over three decades and was known to the children there as their “daycare grandma”. She touched many young lives during her time there and that will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Marlene’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Army Navy & Air Force Lower Hall (359 1st Ave. N.) in Saskatoon. Marlene was an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Oilers. People are encouraged to wear their favourite sports jersey to Marlene’s celebration.
