John Alan Rines
May 6, 1957 – September 11, 2019
Our family is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of John Alan Rines on September 11, 2019 at the age of 62. He has left a hole in our lives as a husband and best friend, a father, a step-father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a grand-uncle, and a nephew that cannot be filled. He was born in New Westminster and spent every summer at his favourite place known as “The Farm” , the family home in Ocean Park near Crescent Beach, which he and his family helped build. He was a special and caring partner to his wife Debbie, his soul mate, who had searched for him her entire life and now, after only 5 years, has been taken away. They enjoyed curling together and shared a passion for music, sports and family. John was highly organized in his personal and professional life – a trait he passed down to his daughter. When he wasn’t busy working as a strata manager you could find him in the garden, in his workshop building something, helping out his family, or preparing for next year’s Halloween display – his specialty!
He leaves behind and will be dearly missed by his daughter Corinne Rines, his wife, Debbie Rines, his mother Shirley Rines, brothers Bruce (Stephanie), Bill (Wendy)and sister Sue (Lance), step-children Jeremy and Sara, and many nephews/nieces and their partners and children, and friends from curling and CML Strata staff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 1:00 pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre 14831 – 28th ave Surrey BC. Reception to follow at same location.
