Jeannette Poirier
1932-2019
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Jeannette Poirier 87, of
Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing
Home on Friday, September 13, 2019. Born in St. Louis, she
was the daughter of the late Crispin Gallant and late
Délima (Maillet) Gallant. Jeannette loved the
outdoors, especially gardening and in her younger years she enjoyed
cycling, cross country skiing and walking with friends. She liked
listening to music and loved to dance. She was a hard
worker, a wonderful seamstress and cook, her specialty was homemade
bread, donuts and pies and always enjoyed a good game of
cribbage.
Jeannette will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Vivianne
Poirier (Camille) of Edmonton, AB, Liette Pineo (Chris) of Porters
Lake, NS; three sons, Maurice Poirier (Marie-Paule) of Dartmouth, NS,
Yves Poirier (Mona) of Aldouane, Alain Poirier (Ann) of Dartmouth, NS;
eleven grandchildren, Jehanne, Sébastien, MK, Grant,
Stéphane, Leanne, Marc-André, Jeno, Justin,
Jeremy, Samuel and four great grandchildren.
She is also survived by one sister, Freda Gallant of Montreal
and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Yvon
Poirier; one daughter, Mariette (Steve); four sisters, Ernestine,
Alma, Lucienne, Florence; seven brothers, Saturnin, René,
Cyprien, Edgar, Joe, Louis-Emile, Theodule and three infant
siblings.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday from 7-9 pm, Tuesday beginning at noon
until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated
on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis des
Français Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
Rexton Lions Nursing Home would be appreciated by the
family. Special thanks to all the staff at the Rexton Lions
Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of
Jeannette. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
