Jeanette was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Robert Semchuk.
Jeanette is survived by children Candice (Bill) Harrison, Rodney Semchuk, Leslie (Lynn) Semchuk and Karen (Roy) Hildebrandt; grandchildren: Allison Donally, Kathleen Donally, Alyssan (Kyler) Gauthier, Cheryl (Robb) Hunter, Riley (Jaimie) Semchuk, Josh (Tamara) Hildebrandt, Rebecca (Greg) Bajus; great grandchildren: Lexi Hunter, Dexter Semchuk, Charlotte Semchuk, Harrison Semchuk, Fergus Semchuk, Eli Hildebrandt, Carter Hildebrandt and Jake Hildebrandt.
Born in Empress, Alberta June 11, 1932, to Francis Xavier Martin and Georgina Sousey. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan where Jeanette resided until moving to Saskatoon in 1992 after the death of her beloved husband, Robert.
As a young girl of 13, she met Robert Semchuk who stole her heart and whom she later married on January 26, 1950. In the summer of 1950, the newlyweds moved north to a one-room cabin near Lost Lake in northern Saskatchewan where they spent their days monitoring forest fires at the top of a fire tower and playing endless games of Canasta. During their time off they enjoyed fishing and countless campfires. That autumn they moved back to Meadow Lake and resided behind Robert’s brother Martin’s grocery store. After one miscarriage they were blessed with three children, Candice Brenda (1952), Rodney Grant (1954) and Leslie Drew (1956). Soon after they purchased a home from Robert’s brother Walter and it was there in 1959 that Karen Lee was born completing their family.
Jeanette loved the outdoors and gardening. She and Robert spent countless hours fishing, hunting and golfing. It is the latter in which she won many trophies in local golf club tournaments.
A private family service will take place in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan.
