Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Denis, her children, Valerie Christopherson (James), Kenneth Kristoffersen (Hugo), Jason Christopherson (Karen), her three grandchildren, Ryan vanPelt (Laura), Craig vanPelt (Brooklynne), Reilly Christopherson, her great grandchild, Lucas vanPelt, and her dog, Benji. She is also remembered by two sisters, two brothers, their spouses, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Irene grew up in Maillardville, B.C., spending her early years attending Our Lady of Fatima School, and later worked at the Caisse Populaire Credit Union. She was an incredible energy and life force. She instilled in her children, and everyone she touched that you did things right the first time. She had a love for ceramics and scrap-booking, leaving her children and grandchildren her own personal legacy. She loved cooking and baking, and her children will miss their favourite cookies. She spent her last months in hospice, soaking in the sunshine, enjoying the gardens, watching her favourite Chickadees, making new friends, laughing and joking with visitors, and celebrating her 55th Wedding Anniversary with her loving husband and close family. Funeral to be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Parish, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge, B.C., Friday, October 4th at 11a.m. Prayers will be Thursday, October 3rd at 7 p.m.
