Into your hands O’ Lord do we commit the soul of the departed Laura Hailes (nee Holovaci). Laura rested in the Lord this last week in Mission, BC. She is dearly missed by her four sons, their spouses , grandchildren, and church community.
Traditional Orthodox funeral rites will be performed for Laura. She will be received at her parish, Holy Nativity Orthodox Church, 4828 216a St, Langley, BC, on Friday September 13, with a time of open visitation at 6:30pm followed by the evening’s vespers service at 7pm. Laura will stay at the parish and those who are able, are encouraged to help keep vigil reading the psalms throughout the night.
The following morning, Saturday September 14, being the Orthodox feast commemorating the Elevation of the Life Giving Cross, there will be a Matins service starting at 9am followed by Diving Liturgy. The funeral service will follow immediately around 11:00am ish. The family invites guests to stay for a mercy meal.
Laura will then be laid to rest at Hatzic Cemetery, 34867 Cemetery Ave, Mission.
Flowers graciously accepted and may be sent directly to the church the evening of September 13 at 6pm or thereafter. If you wish to provide a donation to the church in Laura’s memory, please review Holy Nativity’s website.
