OBITUARIES
Gretta Maretta Matilda Taylor (nee Lund)
1935 – 2019
On 15 September 2019, our dear Gretta was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour, along with those who have gone before her. Gretta will be sorely missed by her husband of 64 years, Mel, her daughter Lynda (Bill) and son Ted (Maureen), 8 grandchildren (Carolyn, Jennifer, Nicole, Andrea, Ben, Chris, Lance, Jenna) and 4 great grandchildren (Madison, Emilee, Caleb, Amy). Gretta is survived by son-in-law Lonnie, sisters Margaret and Janet. She was predeceased by daughter Shelley, mother Esther and father Theodore.
Gretta was born in Vancouver where she spent her early childhood. In her early teens, the family moved to Eureka California. In her late teens she attended Full Gospel Bible Institute in Eston, SK where she met the love of her life. After one year in FGBI, she went home to attend her ailing Mother but love would not be undone and she married Mel in 1955. With her husband, Gretta spent a few years in ministry and then they moved back to California for eight years. She then came with her husband and family to the Minnedosa area so Mel could become a Bee Farmer. Gretta served her community within the Minnedosa Hospital until her retirement. She later moved to Winnipeg. Gretta was an active member of Eureka Covenant Church, Minnedosa Covenant Church and Faith Covenant Church.
The family expresses their gratitude to the 4th Floor Family Medicine group for their stellar care of Mom during the last days of her earthly stay.
