Peacefully at the Hartford Retirement Home in Morrisburg on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, Grace Centen (nee van Kessel), age 91. Beloved wife of the late Arnold Centen. Loving mother of Martin (Susan) of Winchester, Peggy Levac (Richard) of Glen Walter, Joan Polito (Nat) of Scarborough and Ron (Nicole) of Morewood. Dear sister of Toni Byvelds (John) of Williamsburg, Bert (Theresa) of Chesterville, Anton of Ottawa, Pieta Prokott of Minnesota and Corrie McRae of Chesterville. Sister-in-law of Carol van Kessel of Whitby and Pauline van Kessel of Chesterville. Predeceased by her son Arnold, her infant daughters Joanne and Mary, her sister Anna Jacobs and her brothers Martin and Peter van Kessel. Grace will be fondly remembered by 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends may call at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Morrisburg, on Saturday, September 7th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Morrisburg. Donations to the Dundas County Hospice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
