Fran’s zest for life was evident in everything that she did.
She raised her 6 daughters, helped alongside her husband Lloyd with the family farm, and always kept it known that her home was open to anyone that needed a place to stay, food to eat, a job to do, and a caring ear for their troubles.
It was Fran’s very strength and determination that directed her and Lloyd to grow their small family farm, on the 3rd of Wallace, into a successful dairy operation that provided for their family over many decades.
Fran and Lloyd were always ready to lend a helping hand to any neighbor in need. In turn, many of their neighbors were there in support to them, in their time of need also. This was the true Wallace Township Way. Fran was a former member of the True Blue Lodge, and a long standing member of the Wallace Township Goodwill Women’s Institute.
Her life-long highlight was when she contributed her time to the compiling and creation of the
125th Wallace Township History Book. A lot of hard work, but that never scared her off. Fran loved to curl, listen to music, mow her many lawns, adore her flower beds, help Lloyd with field work by driving tractors, grow, harvest and delight in her many vegetable gardens.
Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very evident in all the many pictures and albums thru-out her home. She will be truly missed, and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
