Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family after a courageous 26 year battle with cancer at his home in Foxtrap, Conception Bay South on Saturday, September 21, 2019, age 74.
Predeceased by parents Albert and Fannie Jane, Sister Elizabeth Cluney, Brother John (Una), mother and father in law Frank and Annie Haines, Brother in laws Jim (Bernice) Haines, Frank Haines, Alf Haines, Graham Haines and Ernest Fagan sister in laws Elizabeth (Bill) Diamond and Jean Fagan.
Leaving to celebrate his life his loving and devoted wife Linda of 46 years. Edgar was a proud father to sons Rod (Michelle) and Russ (Michelle) and grandchildren Emilio, Ethan and Evan Peach, Jessica (Aaron) Noseworthy and Kathleen and Ricky Drover.
Brothers: Furness (Caroline), Cyril (Jane), Frank, Mervil (Patricia)
Brother in laws: Reg (Mary) Haines, Les (Marg)Haines, Herb (Marg) Haines, Ted Haines and Lester Cluney
Sisters in Law: Phyllis (Charlie) Warford, Marg (Edwin) DeGruchy, Marion (Eldred) Kennedy, Ruby Fagan (Max Batten), Marilyn (Jim) Hale, Elizabeth Peach, Jeanette Haines, Marion Haines, Yvonne Haines as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Edgar’s favorite place was being in his garden farming with his brothers & sons, playing multiple instruments and had a deep love of music. He adored his wife and found great strength in her kindness and love.
Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Monday from 2 pm – 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place from All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11 am. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap.
