It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Steven Van Zutphen. Chris passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on September 16th, 2019 after a twelve month battle with Glioblastoma. Loving husband of Cora Van Zutphen (nee O’Quinn), devoted father of Peyton & Emily. Chris is survived by his mother & father Sylvia and Bill Van Zutphen, sister Carrie Van Zutphen (Derik), nieces Kayleigh & Alannah and nephews Ethan & Ryan. Also survived by his mother-in-law Judy Abbott, father-in-law Frank Bridges and sister-in-law Leah Holwell (Jamie). Fondly remembered by his many aunts & uncles Steve Morrison (Denise), Eneke Lockwood (Dave), Nick Van Zutphen (Judy) and his cousins Matt, Andrea, Kate, Dawn, Marshall, Nick, Fred, David, Peggy, Connie, Tracy, Jason, William, Martin and Nicole and close friend Rick Couling. Predeceased by grandparents Kay and Guy Morrison and Henry and Maria Van Zutphen.
Chris was a kind and gentle soul with deep respect for everyone he encountered. He will be missed by his many friends, his colleagues at Trade-Mark Industrial, and his brothers at UA local 527. A lover of animals, Chris will also be missed by his canine companions (Griffin, Nyla & Moxie)
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ariss Valley Golf Course, 5700 Wellington County Rd. 86 in Ariss, on Saturday October 5, 2019 drop-ins from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In honor of Chris, donations may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital or an animal sanctuary of your choice.
