Obituary of Barbara Ann Becker Janzen
Janzen, Barbara Ann – It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Janzen (nee Becker), age 41, at her home in St. Catharines, on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Barb was the beloved wife of David and stepmother to Shaylyn, the much loved daughter of Henry and Christine, and daughter-in-law of Jake (Hertha). She was a dear sister to Dan (Katherine), sister-in-law to Robert (Andrea), and a very special and loving aunt to her niece Lily. She will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew her.
Barb grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake next to her grandparents’ peach farm. She attended Brock and Western University, where she pursued her passion for social justice and advocacy. Barb’s background in sociology and her devotion to policy reform led to her social justice volunteer work and a recent position in social work.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Home, 3277 King St. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Bethany Community Church Pastor Andrew Mills officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room.
