Abraham, Albert – 93, Truro. It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Albert Abraham on September 5, 2019. Born in Truro on December 17, 1925, Dad worked for the CNR, Pharaoh’s Tavern and later, The Engine Room. A passionate outdoorsman, our father spent many hours at his favourite place, fishing the Stewiacke River. Sports played a major role in his life from a young age with baseball and golf being his favourites. He was also an excellent bridge player and loved the game. A notorious joke teller, Dad liked making people laugh and everyone knew at any given time, he would have one to share. His gregarious exterior belied a deeply sensitive man who read and wrote poetry. Robbie Burns was the poet Dad admired the most. An altruistic man, our father donated blood all his life and was always available to those who needed a helping hand. Dad danced to the beat of his own drum and it was well known that he and Mom were a couple who knew how to “cut a rug.” Predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty (Jock), Dad leaves behind his daughter, Darlene, Truro; grandsons, Jamie and Daniel, Halifax; daughter, Jo-Anne (Jan); grandchildren, Yannick and Sophia, Hamburg, Germany as well as many family members. We will miss him very much. Dad was one of a kind and one of the last of a vanishing era and he is, once again, with his “only luve,” Jock. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
A Red, Red Rose – Robbie Burns
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
