Shannon’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Shannon Walter Tucker announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Shannon was also a long time member of the volunteer fire department with the towns of Meadows and Baie Verte. Shannon leaves to mourn his loving wife Chelsea, and his seven month old daughter, Alexis, the light of his world. Also his parents, Walter and Sheila; sister, Maria (Christopher); brother, Lucas; his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Deanne Newbury; sister-in-law, Ashley (Adam); grandmother, Frances Brake (Selwyn); grandparents. Elwood and Neila Tucker; Chelsea’s grandparents, Sidney and Olive Newbury; grandmother, Adelaide Bowers; and Shannon’s special cousin and friend, Nick Tucker (Kayla); also a large circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends in Baie Verte and Meadows. Shannon was predeceased by his grandfather, Jim Brake. A special thank you to Dr. Lottes and the nursing staff at the Baie Verte Peninsula Medical Centre, Dr. Munn, and the nursing staff of 5 North A at the Health Science Centre; Rev. Canon Iliffe Sheppard for his many pastoral visits; and the Baie Verte Fire department. Friends and family may visit Holy Trinity Church in Meadows on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, and again on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11 am with Rev. Malcolm Palmer, Rev. Kay Osmond, and Rev. Deacon Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Baie Verte Fire Department or to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund. A celebration of Shannon’s short life will be held after the service at the Holy Trinity Church Hall.
