Obituary of Ann Watt
It is with heavy hearts the family of T. Ann (MacConnell) Watt, loving wife of Jim Watt, announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on July 9, 1937 she was a daughter of the late T.C. and Helen (MacLellan) MacConnell.
Ann graduated from Nursing at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax and worked as a nurse for 10 years before leaving to raise her family. She later enjoyed a career in Real Estate for over 25 years. Her priority was always her family and as they expanded she was a loving and active part in all of their lives. She was also an active member of the Hampton Golf Course, the Saint David’s Church choir, and she was involved in a bridge group with friends for over 40 years. She always did everything with a smile on her face. She had the kindest heart and nothing made her face light up more than her grandchildren. She had a beautiful and gentle soul and always made her friends and family feel so special.
In addition to her husband, Ann will be deeply missed by her six children: Darlene (Bruce) Macdonald, Rick (Michele) Watt, Rob Watt, Randy (Laura) Watt, Debbie (Jeff) Mercier and Deanne (Chris) Long; brothers, Jim (Dorothy) MacConnell and Melvin (Carolyn) MacConnell; 21 grandchildren – Kevin (Charlotte), Greg, Aaron, Taylor, Brett (Emma), Nicole, Jake, Sara, Megan, Jamie, Kate, Olivia, Anna, Graeme, Mackenzie, Mitchell, Madison, Matthew, Jack, Isabel, Regan and one great-grandchild, Kaylee as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held from 1-4pm on Friday, September 20th at Shadow Lawn Inn. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Ann may be made to JDRF, Alzheimer’s Society of NB or Main Street Community Services in Ottawa (specializing in programs and services for Children and Youth with special needs) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
