Walter McQuinn
1933-2019
Walter John McQuinn, of Riverview, passed away peacefully
surrounded by his family at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on
Saturday, September 14, 2019. Born in Mount Pisgah, NB, he was the son
of the late James and Mildred (Perkins) McQuinn.
Walter worked for Lounsbury Company and retired after 39
years. He also owned and operated Walter’s
Contract Flooring. Walter was an avid golfer and long-time member of
the Moncton and Pine Needles Golf and Country Clubs. He was also a
member of the Mount Royal United Church and choir.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen (Shaban) McQuinn,
daughters; Janet (Normand) Cormier of Richibucto, Ann (James) Mooney
of Calgary, sons; Chris (Wavey) of Riverview, Todd of St. Martins and
his sister Marion Bird. Walter will also be missed by his
grandchildren: Denis (Darcy) Cormier, Jeremy (Freeda) Cormier, Melodie
(Adrien) Cormier, Daniel Cormier, David (Jennifer) Mooney, Jessica
(Darryn) Madill, Joey McQuinn, Alicia Nickerson, four
great-grandchildren and his several nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Walter was predeceased by his
brothers; Gerald and Herold and his sisters; Louise Schofield and
Pauline Carr.
Resting at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation
Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) with visitation on
Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service to
take place on Wednesday at 2:00pm with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley
officiating at Mount Royal United Church, 106 Mt. Royal Blvd,
Moncton.
Donations can be made in Walter’s memory to Mount
Royal United Church a charity of the donor’s
choice.
