The death of Mrs. Eleanor Laurine Donald wife of the late Archie Donald of Main Street, Blackville, NB, occurred on Friday, September 6th at the age of 92. Born in South Nelson, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Sturgeon) Clark.
Eleanor was a member of the St. Andrew’s United Church, Blackville, a retired Postmistress, member of the Friendship Senior Citizens Club (Miramichi), New Brunswick Women’s Institute, United Church Women (UCW), Heritage Club and the Old Mill Pond Golf Club.
Eleanor is survived by: three daughters: Betty Lou Matchett (Glen) of Bathurst, NB; Nancy Lee Hambrook (Terry) and Karen Laurine MacRae (Neil) all of Douglastown, NB; one son: Royden Sinclair Donald (Nancy) of Newcastle, NB; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Dane and Evan Hambrook, Ian Donald, Jennifer (Donald) Savage, Jaima (MacRae) Gilcrhist, Rebecca (MacRae) Best; thirteen great grandchildren, six nieces and seven nephews.
Besides her husband: Archie R. Donald and parents, Eleanor is predeceased by: five sisters: Clara Gillespie, Ethel Clark, Doris Carr, Barbara Hubbard and Mildred Clark and two brothers: Arnold and Lyman Clark.
The family will receive visitors at the St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, Blackville, NB on Saturday, September 7th from 2-6 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from the St. Andrew’s United Church, Blackville on Sunday, September 8th at 2 PM with Reverend Paul McGratton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Blackville.
