William « Bill » Arthur Langille
January 19, 1953 – August 23, 2019
Langille, William Arthur “Bill” – age 66, of Hebb’s Cross and formerly of Wallace, passed away with his loving family by his side Friday, August 23, 2019 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Tatamagouche, he was the son of the late Basil and Dorothy (Walsh) Langille. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Benjamin Langille; sister, Bonnie Lee, in infancy. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Lepper) Langille; daughter, Patricia Langille, Dartmouth, N.S.; brother, Robert “Bobby” Langille, Wallace; sisters, Brenda (Bedford) Chapman, Amherst; Mary Ann (Andy) O’Brien, Wallace; many nieces and nephews. After attending Pugwash High School, Bill completed his education at the NSCC Institute of Technology in Halifax and the Commercial Safety College in Debert, Nova Scotia. Bill was a professional truck driver for most of his life, and was a delivery driver for Scotsburn Dairy, a long-haul trucker for Day and Ross, and a Van Driver for the South Shore Work Activity Program. Bill enjoyed driving, watching sports, especially the Blue Jays, and travelling. He had a great sense of humour, and he absolutely loved talking to people. He knew how to make people feel special and cared for, and he made many friends through his various jobs and family connections. It was impossible to go anywhere without running into people he knew. Christmas was his favourite time of year and loved to start decorating early and leaving the decorations up well into January. He especially loved working with the staff and participants at the South Shore Work Activity Program, and was always sorry he only came to that job later in life. His greatest love, though, was spending time with his wife and daughter. Many special nights and weekends were spent camping, on road trips, making his legendary pizza or chili, or just laughing together as a family. He was our world, and we are now lost without him. A time to gather and celebrate Bill’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, August 29th in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to South Shore Community Service Association for SSWAP (South Shore Work Activities Program) at canadahelps.org or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff in the Emergency and ICU Departments of the South Shore Regional Hospital for the extraordinary care they provided for both Bill and his family. We would especially like to thank Dr. Fraser and Dr. West, and the ICU nurses who fought so hard to save him, and who provided such comfort during his final days. Their kindness and compassion during this most difficult time will never be forgotten. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family by following the links on this web page.
