March 27, 1984-August 27, 2019
Warren passed away suddenly at his residence in Wikwemikong. Forever cherished by his family. He was a dear brother of Sebastian (Angela), Macy, Cruz, Maureen, Cindy (Howard), June (Ron), Paulette (Luke), Claudette (Todd), Velma, Jackie (Karen), Peggy (Bernie), JoAnne; Floyd, Stewart and Sara.
He is survived by his niece and nephews, Shawn, Sylvester, Jules, Malachi and Lily.
Predeceased by his grandparents/special mom Victoria Mary and Alex Manitowabi, special dad Lloyd Pitawanakwat, mother Wilma Manitowabi, sisters Karen and Fedra Lynn, brother in law Randy and cousin April.
Special dad to step daughters Simone, Summer and Desiree Recollet.
He will be sadly missed by his godparents Douglas Pitawanakwat and Velma Manitowabi, many cousins, friends, school mates, Naandwe Miikaan staff, medical support staff and fellow patients at the Dialysis Unit in Little Current and North Bay.
At a young age he participated in The Healing Dance Has Begun a Family Violence Video; Barney on Ice; Children’s Program with Debaj. Theatre., Altar Boy for Holy Cross Mission; Warren loved reading he was an “A” student throughout his schooling. He completed his GED; attended Cambrian College; participated in Moving Forward a College Preparatory Program; attended Canadore College and completed his first year Mental Health and Addictions Program. Warren received the Nadmadwin Award for Mental Health. He was a seasonal worker for 2 o’clock hill construction; Casino Rama; University of Toronto; Heart and Stroke Foundation; Manitowabi Construction; Rainbow Ridge Golf Course; Fire Fighter at Outlander Reforestation; Louie Manitowabi Logging; Hemlock Picker and Tree planting.
Visitation will be at the St. Ignatius Church in Buzwah 6 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 2nd, 2019 at the Holy Cross Mission. Cremation to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers monetary donations accepted in memorial bursary and dialysis unit.
