It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Malcolm Schrader,74, of Lunenburg and formerly of East LaHave, announces his passing on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.
Born in Halifax, Victor was the son of the late Murray and Marion (Acker) Schrader.
Victor spent all of his working life in the fishing industry, working for Riverport Seafoods, then as chief engineer on scallop draggers out of Lunenburg and for Mersey Seafoods, Liverpool.
Victor is survived by his wife, Reta, daughters, Susan (Peter) Tanner, Bridgewater and Cindy Schrader, Brampton, ON, brother, Arnold (Susan) Schrader, St. John, NB.; grandchildren, Joli, Will-Jay, Mira-Kole, Tristan-Lee, Max, Samantha, Johnny and Dominic and great-grandson, Eldin.
He was predeceased by his son, Charles.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a memorial service to celebrate Victor’s life will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Willis Ott, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, East LaHave.
No flowers by family request, memorial donations may be made to Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care or to a charity of your choice.
