HATTIE, Rosalie Louise – age 74, born on August 6, 1945 in Wedgeport, NS. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Rosalie Louise Hattie (nee Pothier). Rosalie was predeceased by her husband Chuck Messenger and her parents John and Zita Pothier. She was the mother of her devoted son Steven Hattie and his wife Niva. Proud Grandmère to Billy and Shedly. Big sister to the late Olivia Malo(Wayne) and pre-deceased by her 2 brothers, Alain and Armand. Tante Rosalie “TR” to her nieces; Wanda Highton (Dwayne), Tania Loos(Jason), Karen Malo and Holly Malo. Cherished great aunt to Jonathan, Jasmine, Ethan, Elise, Maddux and Jaxon. Rosalie will be greatly missed by her four legged feline friends. She will be remembered for her keen interest in what her family is doing and kept a close eye through the lens of Facebook. Rosalie was fiercely proud of her Acadian heritage and shared her pride at any occasion possible. Other passions include her gardening, inside her sunroom and outside in her little flowerbeds. In accordance with Rosalie’s wishes, there is no visitation. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 23 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, with Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth S.P.C.A. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M.
