Passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital, Kingston, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Born in Ottawa on December 29, 1929 and raised in Shawville, QC, he was the son of John H. Murray and (Ettie) Edith Maretta (nee Hamilton). Ken graduated from Sir George Williams (B.A.) and McGill University (M.Div.) In 1954, he married Elizabeth Ann (nee Sumner) of Montreal and was ordained a minister of the United Church of Canada moving to his first pastorate in Pelly, SK . He was then called to pastorates in Hemmingford, Montreal West, Carleton Place and Picton. They moved to Kingston in 1992 where Ken worked in interim ministries until 2004. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, his two sons, in whom he took much joy, Bruce (Mary McFadden) and James (Christine Johnson) and was the proud grandfather of Nathan (Melissa Auclair), Peter, Scott, and great-granddaughter, Evelyn. Ken loved sailing, woodworking, travel and reading. He was « Mr. Fix-it » when it came to repairing anything made of wood. He also loved picking strawberries. Cremation was placed in the care of James Reid Crematorium. A memorial service in celebration of Reverend Murray`s faith and devotion will be held at CROSSROADS UNITED CHURCH, (690 Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard) on Saturday, September 14 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until 1:50 pm. If desired, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, Crossroads United Church, or UHKF (Renal Dialysis or Providence Care Hospital).
