In Loving Memory Of
Raymond Kardas
Raymond Michael Kardas resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Fenwick, ON, passed away suddenly on Thursday August 22, 2019 at the age of 66 years.
Ray was born and raised in Fenwick. For the past 38 years, Ray taught Physical Education courses at GPRC in Grande Prairie, AB. Ray held a masters degree in both PE and Religious Studies. He attended St. Thomas U, U Ottawa and McGill U. Ray was a man of fire.
His passion, whether positive or negative, was always apparent. He loved nature and, in particular, birds. He could often be seen through the window joyfully chatting with the birds. Ray was a very hard worker who loved his family and home particularly working on his yard. He was dynamic, interesting, funny, responsible, loving and had a heart of gold. You were wise if you took his advice as he was so often right. He was a newspaper junky and an avid reader. He loved to travel, particularly to the South Pacific and Cook Islands, always meeting new people.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Dale of 34 years, his 98-year-old mother Anne, his son Nick and daughter Zoe as well as many relatives including Shawn. He will also be missed by dear friends including: John and Debbie, Frank and Theresa, Burk and Claudia, Dennis and Rick.
He was predeceased by his brother John and father Walter.
Ray is resting at Lampman Funeral Home in Fenwick, ON. A Visitation will be held in the Lampman Chapel on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 7-9pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Fenwick on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00am. Cremation to follow.
