Oral Broad
1935-2019
Following a lengthy illness, Oral Leon Broad of Perth-Andover, NB,
passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on August 22,
2019.
Oral was born in Holmesville, NB, on December 2, 1935. He was the son
of the late Leigh and Bernice (DeMerchant) Broad. Oral leaves behind
his children, Denise Joy Higgins (Mike) of Caroline, AB, Dana Broad of
Beechwood, NB; his granddaughter, Amelia Higgins of Caroline, AB; the
mother of his children, Cynthia Broad (Perry) of Beechwood, NB; his
sister, Verdaline Ruff of Flint, Michigan; his brothers, Kevin Broad
(Dolores) of Bristol, NB, Keith Broad (Betty) of Centerville, NB;
along with several nieces and nephews.
Oral was predeceased by his parents; and his longtime companion, Joan
Smith (2013).
Respecting Oral’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held. A graveside service will be held at the Holmesville Free
Will Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society
would be appreciated by the family.
Oral’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the
nursing staff of Hotel Dieu Hospital for the excellent care given to
Oral during his ten month stay.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
