It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Melvin Spencer MacLean, age 65, on Monday, August 19, 2019, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Lake Ainslie on January 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Donald and Jessie MacLeod. Melvin worked at the Department of Transportation for over 35 years.
Melvin was a quiet man who loved spending time with grandchildren and fur babies. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
Melvin is survived by his daughter Chrissy Dove (Andrew) and their children Joseph, Kaitlyn and Gregory.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (Strong) MacLean.
Melvin’s family will receive visitors in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, on Friday, August 23, 2019, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A time of remembrance will take place in the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating.
