Mark Gordon’s Obituary
GRANTON – Mark Gordon Albert Richard, 75, passed away, Wednesday August 14, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in London, England, he was a son of the late Albert Joseph and Marie Evelyn (Cohen) Richard. Prior to retirement, Mark was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 16 years, having previously been employed in Ontario with several companies, always in the tire business. At the age of 20, he enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in CFB Shilo for a period of time. Mark will be fondly remembered for his hilarious antics and wonderful sense of humour. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Mark leaves a rich legacy of love to his family.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys; daughters, Paula (Joey) Swallow, Thorburn; Jennifer (Gordon) Fennell, New Glasgow; sons, Michael (Donna) Richard, New Glasgow; Jim (Anna) Richard, Red Deer, Alta.; Wendell Richard, Pictou; Stephen (Sara) Richard, Westville; daughter-in-law, Darlene Richard, Alma; honorary daughter, Amanda Hennessey, Pictou; stepsons; Gordon Wells, Amherst; Richard Wells, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Norman (Lorie) Wells, Sackville, N.B; sisters, Linda (Earl) Schuler, Princeton, B.C.; Edna (Jim) MacDonald, Rockport, N.B.; Tina (Robert) Valke, Rockport; Lorraine (Rick) Crew, Oakville, Ont.; brothers; Fred (Audrey) Richard, Dunnville, Ont.; Paul Richard, Dundas, Ont.; grandchildren, Sarah, Lindsay, Brandon, Gordon, Peter, Melissa, Nicholas, Mark, Emily, Melanie, Andrew, Joey, Shayleigh, Carly, Lauren and Parker; great grandchildren, Seth and Scarlett; honorary grandchildren, Anna, Ashley, Cohen, Ricky, Justin, Jacob and Jordan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by first wife, Patricia Ann (Coombs); son, Jeffrey Allan Richard; sister, Geraldine Nugent; brother, Gerald Richard; stepson, Stephen Wells.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday August 16th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
