Obituary of Lillian Frances Woods
Lillian Frances Woods passed away peacefully at Gardiner Point Care Home at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her parents Ernie and Doris Strong, husband Terry (2014), and twin sister Dorothy Bellamy (2018). Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Patti Kelm (Don) and Traci Woods (Graham); grandchildren Matthew Kelm (Brittany), Nicholas Kelm (Clara), Aaron Switzer (Jenny) and Sarah Switzer; sister-in-law Marianne Woods and brother-in-law Jim Bellamy; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Lillian was a quiet, loving, artistic, creative, entrepreneurial, hardworking, and athletic woman. She worked as a floral designer (Regina Florist) for 29 years, leaving in 1980 to open her own business, Floral Accents, which she operated for the next 29 years. Lillian enjoyed countless hours on her own, working on her sewing, various crafts, and in her floral shop. Her handiwork and her home were meticulously created and cared for. Lillian was active and fun loving, always willing to participate in activities with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. Over the years she enjoyed many outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, cross country skiing, water skiing, swimming, snowmobiling, golfing and walking. She was deeply committed to her family and lovingly cared for her four grandchildren at every request as they were growing up. Lillian had a deep and quiet faith and was an active member of the Regina Apostolic Church family for over 70 years. A special thanks to her very dear friend, Leone Thunberg, who spent countless hours visiting her faithfully, accompanying her to craft sales, and bringing so much fun and laughter to her life over their many years of friendship. The family is also grateful to Maria Parasram, Monica Sugrim and the wonderful staff of Gardiner Point Care Home (Regina) who provided kind and loving care for her during her last years and days. A private family memorial service will be held in her honor.
