Kenneth G. Halliday
1933 – 2019
Kenneth Gerald Halliday, husband of the late Audrey Halliday of Ironmen Rd., Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the age of 86.
Born in Amherst, NS, on April 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Cecil and Marjorie Halliday. He was in the Armed Forces for over 25 years and retired as a Warrant Officer. He volunteered as an instructor at the YMCA in Edmonton, AB for Arobics. He owned his own business for several years, one being Guiding Light Boat Charters and Halliday Rentals in Slave Lake, AB where he had moved with his beloved wife Audrey to be near his grandchildren. Ken loved the outdoors guiding, hunting and fishing. His heart was being out on the water in his cabin cruiser with family and friends. He enjoyed going to Oak Point camp ground during the warmer months where he had a small paradise set up, home away from home.
Ken lit up a room just by walking into it. Everyone who met him loved him. The family wishes to thank his many kind hearted devoted friends who took dad under their wings and cared for him over the past two years after Audrey’s passing.
He is survived by his daughter, Patti Brown of Slave Lake, AB; son, David Halliday of Edmonton, AB; five grandchildren: Mark, Alicia, Kenny, Silkie and Destiny; seven great grandchildren: Hailee, Dylan, Elizabeth, Abigail, Rhys Jr, Braden and Jessica.
By request there will be no visitation. A public memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will be held in Miramichi at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone (506) 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
