Joan Knight
1920-2019
Joan Knight passed away August 22, 2019 at the Kingston General Hospital in her 100th year. Joan will be missed by her daughter Joanne Robson (Bill) and son Fred Knight (Maureen), five grandchildren (Suzanne, Colleen, Jill, Michael and Emily) and nine great grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1999 and by her parents and sisters by 1935.
In her younger years Joan enjoyed competitive badminton and swimming, Wednesday bridge, crossword puzzles and scrabble filling her time in later years. She worked for the Army in Newfoundland during WWII and then held several jobs with the government in Ottawa. But her time working in the Senate for Senators Molson and Forsey was most fondly remembered and stirred many political conversations with family.
A private family funeral will be held with interment at Cataraqui Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to UHKF (Kingston Health Science Centre – Oncology) or a charity of choice.
