James Herbert Vincent Brodeur, born July 30, 1941, was reunited with his parents and siblings on July 31, 2019. Jim was the forth born of Ida and Sib Brodeur, brother to Tom, Fran, John, Doug and Barb. A true Habourite (Victoria Harbour) born and raised, Jim spent his childhood playing hockey with his family and friends or helping out with the family business by helping his dad with bread deliveries. A dedicated and valued worker at every job he held, Jim always took pride in his work. Whether it was at Waggs making clean rug deliveries or with the Housing tending to all things asked of him. Jim was the true essence of a man who whistled while he worked. A true Habs fan, hockey was more than a sport to Jim, it was in his blood. Playing well into his retirement. Jim was able to travel the world entering and winning tournaments everywhere he and his Midland Oldtimers Team went. When he wasn’t on the ice he was putting miles on his bike, when he wasn’t on his bike he was tearing up the dance floor and when he wasn’t dancing you could be sure to find him at a seat at the Bull $#!% table at the Legion. He is survived by his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, wonderful in-laws who loved him like a brother and many friends who will help his legacy and memory live on for a long time to come. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Owen Hill Community Care and LeClair Cremation Centre. Everyone is welcome to a graveside internment at St. Margaret’s Cemetery (date an time to be announced) followed by a cold Canadian raised in his honour at the Midland Royal Canadian Legion. Memorial Donations in his name to the Raise the Roof campaign at the Royal Canadian Legion would be greatly appreciated.
