With heavy hearts our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. With his witty humour, positive attitude and determined (but sometimes stubborn) spirit, Glenn successfully fought cancer for seven years, but now he need not fight anymore. Our profound sadness is eased knowing that he is reunited with our precious Blair; his parents Rex and Nellie Greening; nephew Sam Blagdon; sisters Rexine, Pats and Geneva and brothers-in-law Lloyd Melindy and Ted Caines (buddy and personal wine maker). Left with precious memories are his wife Martha (nee Blackwood); son Shayne (Michelle), daughters Robyn Hipditch (Mike) and Jacqueline Stanford (Greg); grandson Ashton; and granddaughters Kendra, Brooke, Lauren, Shaelyn and Janielle; sisters Donna Rae Furlong (Paul), Joan Boddez (Gordon), Lynn Perry (Eric) and Kay Barbour (Jesse); numerous Blackwood in-laws and a very large circle of friends. Special thanks are extended to the medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre Ambulatory Treatment Unit and 4 North A. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to Dr. Joanne MacIntyre for her superb treatment, compassion and special friendship. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, August 7th, 6-9 pm and Thursday, August 8th, 2-9 pm. Celebration of life will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 9th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Glenn’s memory to Myeloma Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one’s choice.
