Gerald Joseph Bourque Sr.
1933-2019
The passing of Gerald Joseph Bourque Sr., husband of the late Stella
Marie (Leger) Bourque, formerly of St. George NB, occurred at the
Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on August 2, 2019. Born in Moncton
NB on May 29, 1933, he was a son of the late Rosaire and Lina
(LeBlanc) Bourque. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and
brother, Gerald is survived by one son: Gerald Jr. (Lisa) Bourque of
Utopia NB; four daughters: Ginette Bourque (Terry Barry) of St. George
NB, Giselle (Terry) Swanston of Pennfield NB, Julie Bourque (Stacy
Guitard) of Canal NB and Carol (Steven) Frost of Beaver Harbour NB;
grandchildren: Brodie (Christine) Bourque, Amanda (Keith) Leslie,
Michelle Deveau, Tiffany Deveau, Vanessa Taylor, Tamara Taylor,
Cassidy Frost and Allie Frost; great-grandchildren: Lincoln Leslie,
Hayden Gayton, Holden Leslie, Morgan, Cameron, Lucas and Charlie
Bourque; brothers: Alderic (Isabelle) Bourque, Leo-Paul (Gertrude)
Bourque, Bernard Bourque and Andrew Bourque; sisters: Florida (Roger)
Breau, Suzanne (Leopold) Bourgeois, Yvette Theriault (Fern), Stella
Bonello (Tony) and Albertine (Michael) Johnson; several nieces,
nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was
predeceased by three brothers: Donald, George and Real Bourque; one
sister: Mae Cox.
Prior to retirement, Gerald worked with St. George Pulp and Paper for
many years. In his teens, Gerald served his country and enrolled with
the Royal Canadian Army. He was enlisted from 1948-1956 and was once
stationed in Germany. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and
fishing and enjoyed getting out in his kayak. Though he will be missed
greatly by his family, we know he is right where he wants to be, back
beside his beloved wife, Stella.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visitation. A public
graveside service will be held at the St. George’s Catholic Cemetery,
Upper L’Etang NB on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am with Father
Rolando Suplido officiating. In Gerald’s memory, donations to
Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family
