Frank Joseph Casey
1933-2019
It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Frank Joseph Casey
announce his passing at the Veteran’s Health Unit on Tuesday,
August 27, 2019 at the age of 85.
Born on October 24, 1933 in Minto, NB, he spent his adult years
raising his family on Coakley Hill in Minto, NB.
Frank passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Frank leaves behind 3 children, Elizabeth Casey, Maria Casey (Peter
Nutter), Lynn Casey. 2 sisters, Theresa Copeland (Hayward), Martha
Vautour, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and
nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Onesime (James) and Leonie
(Richard) Casey. 2 brothers, Gerald and George Casey, 1 sister, Judith
Casey (Williams). Also predeceased by his infant son, John Casey, son
Kim Casey, and son in law, Fred Heagney.
Frank was a loving father, uncle, brother and grandfather who will be
missed by all who where lucky enough to know him. He spent his working
years serving in the Military for 26 years, during that time he was
stationed at many different bases including Shilo, Manitoba, then
processing to Germany, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, later on retiring in
Oromocto, NB. Frank moved back to his beloved Minto in 1970 to settle
down; as an active Legion Member, Frank spent many of his days at the
local branch playing more than his fair share of crib, pool, and any
other card game he could sit in on.
Frank spent many of his days at his camp on the Tracy Road, he loved
to spent his weekends there with his grandchildren and many friends,
fishing, hunting and playing cards, most days you could find Frank
sitting at the kitchen table on Coakley Hill, listening to country
music, waving at the passer-byers, while reading his newspaper. Frank
was well known and loved by many for his quick wit and lovable
personality; he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who
knew him.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from
Minto Community Chapel. Interment will take place in Saint
Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Chipman Elementary School Breakfast
Program.
Reception will follow in the Minto Seniors Club.
