On August 21, 2019, Emily Anne Dalpé (née Mandziak), loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 87 years.
Emily was born on May 25, 1932 in Hubbard, Saskatchewan to Metro and Rose (Kobialko) Mandziak. After obtaining her Commercial course in Saskatoon, she moved to Edmonton, where she met and married Howard Dalpé in February of 1962. They raised three daughters: Michelle, Deanna and Sharon.
Emily worked at Canada Post for 27 years. She was a passionate gardener, taking great pride in her flowers, and many creative pursuits such as needlework and canning and preserving. She enjoyed bowling and participated in the Bonnie Doon Leagues for many years, sang in her parish choir and was an avid volunteer for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
Emily was predeceased in death by her father, Metro and mother, Rose; as well as sister, Steffie (Petrichuk); and brothers: Bernie and Nestor. She is survived by her husband, Howard; daughters: Michelle (Pahl) and Jesse (Christoph); sisters: Adeline and Maureen (Didyk); and brother, Julian, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Emily will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Parish, 10555 – 50a Street NW, Edmonton, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2019.
