Dorothy Lynda Brown
December 3, 1922 – August 19, 2019
Lynda Brown passed away at Royal Oak Village, Lacombe, on August 19, 2019, at the age of 96. She was born in Stafford, England on December 3, 1922, the only child of James and Amy Morris. In September 1943, she became the War Bride of Canadian Soldier, Clayton T. Brown. After the War, the couple resided on Clayton’s family farm in Valley Center. In 1962, they moved to Lacombe, where she has resided since. Lynda loved gardening, camping, curling, golfing and playing many different board games and cards. She was a long-time member of the Lacombe Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her four children; Bob (Carolyn) Brown, Lyle (Barb) Brown, Wanda McKendrick, Sandi (Brad) Phillips, her grandchildren; Kelly (Shelley), Chelsey (Kurtis), Chad (Stephanie), Josh (Jodi), Marty, Alicia, Carla, and Jordan. She also leaves six great-grandsons; Jude, Drew, Clark, Walter, Jaxton and Kyro, and great-granddaughters, Cora and Harlen. Lynda was pre-deceased by her husband, C.T., son-in-law, Bill, and granddaughter Christie.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Olivier, Misty, and staff at Royal Oak for their care and kindness. At Lynda’s request no funeral will be held. A family inurnment will take place at a later date.
