Charles Michael Burns
Burns, Charles Michael:
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Monday, August 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Mary Anne Burns (nee Hogan) for 56 years.
Loving father of Catherine Burns (Gary Duguay) and Michael (Kathryn) Burns.
Cherished grandpa of Jordan and Audrey.
Dear brother of Fr. Leo Burns CSB.
Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edna Burns.
Charles was a Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo where he was well-known for his kindness to his students. His research made many contributions to the field of polymer science, particularly in polymer characterization. Charles was a long-time member of St. Anthony Daniel Parish. The family wishes to thank the many health care professionals who helped Charles and his family over the past few months.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Toronto, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
