CAMERON, Anna Evelyn –
89, Port Hood, Inv. Co. passed away peacefully Friday, August 23,
2019, in the Inverary Manor, Inverness with her family at her side.
Born on July 2 1930, Anna was the daughter of the late Warren and
Grace (Smith) Tobey, Port Hood Island. Anna grew up on the Island,
attending school at Margaret Ann Memorial and Sunday school in the
beautiful little Jubilee Church. She was the youngest of nine
children. Anna was a woman of great faith and remained active in the
church her entire life. She attended college in Moncton, NB, to
further her religious studies before getting married in 1955 to her
one true love, Willie. Together they moved to Toronto where Anna
worked at the T. Eaton Company. They returned home several years later
to build a home and raise a family. Anna was involved in countless
groups, charities, and activities over the years. She made friends
wherever she went. Anna was kind and genuine. She was so loved by so
many. She loved music and going to the Friday night jams at the
church. She will be deeply missed by her family and her cherished
friends.
Anna is predeceased by her husband, Willie, her parents; her
eight siblings and her daughter- in- law, Marcey (MacDonell).
Surviving are her children, Diane (Kevin) Pierce, Sugarcamp; and
Scott, Glencoe; her grandchildren, Shelly (Nick) Stewart, Gull Lake
AB; Amy (Jake) Brennan, Gatineau QC; Nancy Cameron-Dykens (Erik
Dykens), Port Hood; Grant (Ronelle Chaisson), Port Hood and
her most beloved great- granddaughters, Emma, Jane, and
Avery.
Visitation will take place in the Port Hood and Area Resting
Place from 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 28. Funeral
services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 29 from St
Stephen’s/Jubilee United Church in Port Hood, Pastor Maggie
Plant DLM officiating. Interment at a later date.
Family flowers only please. Memorial donations can be made to
the Jubilee United Church Restoration Fund or a charity of your
choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of
