In Loving Memory of
Angela Maria Serafini (nee Dalle Vedove)
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mom Angela Maria Serafini on August 16th, 2019 at Extendicare Falconbridge at the age of 90.
Born on January 12th, 1929 in Copper Cliff to the late Santo and Enez Dalle Vedove (nee Mazza). Beloved wife of Onelio Serafini who predeceased her on September 18th, 1972. Survived by her loving sons Gary (Velia), Dennis predeceased (Debbie) and Brian (Monique). Cherished grandma of Derek (Deborah), Jason, Dawn, Darryl (Erika), Derek (Beth), Michael (Melissa), Jessica and Chelsea. Loving great grandmother to Emily, Lucy, Andy, Julia, Nathan, Domenic, Vince, Sawyer and Asher. Also survived by sister Louisa (Lou) (Randall predeceased) Dussiaume, brother Felice (Phil predeceased) (Anne) Dalle Vedove, and sister Madelyn Dalle Vedove. Predeceased by infant twin sister Louisa in 1929. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Angela was part of the first set of twins ever to be born in Copper Cliff. The family moved to Montreal for a short period of time and eventually settled in the Gatchell area of Sudbury where she lived for the major part of her life. There she met her husband and soul mate, Onelio, and they married on June 17th, 1950. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her 3 boys in Gatchell. She was an excellent baker which made her very popular with all her son’s friends over the years. Her grandchildren looked forward to receiving their favourite cookies each year for Christmas baked just for them. After the death of Onelio she went to work for the Roman Catholic School board as a custodian, primarily at St. Francis School, where she worked until her retirement in 1994. She was a woman of strong faith and attended St. Anthony’s Church regularly and was a former member of the CWL. Mom had a wonderful sense of humour which stayed with her until the very end. She was a woman of strong character and had a no nonsense kind of attitude towards life. She taught us many of life’s lessons and we were truly blessed to have her in our lives. We are comforted knowing she and dad have reunited in heaven. The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the staff of third floor west at Extendicare Falconbridge for the loving care they gave to our mother these past 7 years. An extra special thank you to Brenda, Gina and Vicki who treated our mother with such love and respect.
