ALICIA LOPEZ ALBANIA, age 62, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Survived by her devoted brother Michael, uncle Ernie (Rose), aunt Aida (Chu Chay) and cousins Jose, Stella, Hans and Melissa. Loving daughter to the late Federico and Anita Albania, sister to the late Danilo Albania, and niece to the late Avelina and Carmelita Lopez.
Alice was born October 16, 1956 in Manila and immigrated to Canada at age 26. A kind and thoughtful person to her core, she dedicated much of her professional life to the care of others – most recently, as a personal support worker at the Ravines. Outside of work, Alice took great joy in the company of her family and friends (not least of which, her four-legged darlings Bailey and Ryu). Her humble, generous and genuine spirit will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the attentive care Alice received in her final days at the Ottawa General Hospital and the Queensway Carleton’s unit in the months prior.
A visitation will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Centre (2500 Baseline Rd.) on Wednesday, August 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Parish (4 Perry St.) followed by a burial and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
