Hey Mom:
Just a couple of months shy of 98. Pretty good for someone who had a brain tumor taken out in the ‘60’s. You had plenty of travel in your life, but always made it back home to Calgary. Must’ve been interesting working at the Bow Glacier Lodge in the late ‘30’s. Mr. Simpson knew Charles Russell, and there were original Russell’s in the lobby. Then joining the Woman’s Air Corps and serving 4 years during WWII took a lot of grit. But of course, that’s where you met and married John Eaton. Four kids and a couple of mortgages later, you had a lengthy retirement in White Rock before coming home again. A cruise in Greece and a trip to China with a couple of grand-daughters, and a trip to Turkey and Greece with Kim were highlights for you. You would’ve liked to do more but failing eyesight and dementia were catching up to you. After Dad passed away, you survived very well on your own. The dementia got worse but through it all you were always very positive. The care-workers at Seton Seniors Community and later Cedars Villa were fantastic and deserve plenty of accolades. In line with your wishes you were cremated, and we’ll do a family only memorial. Besides your own brood, you’ll be missed by your eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Thank you Mom, for all you did for us. You were a special individual who will always be remembered. With much love, your daughter, Kim Coulter (Don); and your sons, Harry (Judy), John (Sue) and Jim.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Patricia Pat Helen Eaton nee Adams October 7 1921 July 31 2019 (age 97)..
