Basil’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, on Friday, August 30, 2019, at his home in Kilbride, following a courageous battle with cancer, Basil Joseph Gibbons, formerly of St. Vincent’s, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 58 years. Predeceased by his parents Peter (1995) & Sarah (2013), his children’s grandfather Peter St. Croix and special friend James Pender. Leaving to mourn his best friend and soulmate, Debbie, his three precious daughters, Ashley (Sebastian), Taylor (Kyle) and Cassie and his grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Cohen, Kinsley and Baby Gibbons, Debbie’s daughter Mallory (Jason) and grandchildren Jonah and Briar Rose. Leaving broken hearted are his brothers and sisters: Maurice (Mary), Mary (Lawrence), Vonnie (Leonard), Margie (Pat), Joanne (Fabian), Joey and Ann Marie (Shane), special friends Daphne & Roy Penney, Edna St. Croix, Anita « Mom Pender » and all members of the Pender family and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank you to all those who supported him throughout his illness with their daily dedication, kindness and love. A very special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Health Science Centre, especially Dr. Noreen Fardy and Community Health Nurse Penny Bliznakova. Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent’s, on Sunday, September 1, from 7 – 9pm and Monday, September 2, from 12 – 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 3, at 10am, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s. Burial to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted.
